9. Career Prospects & Growth
As MTS (General) in IB, you enter the organisation at an entry level but within a central agency with potential for internal movement/promotions (depending on rules) or lateral opportunities.
Exposure to central government operations, security/intelligence environment — though responsibilities will be routine initially.
Because postings can be in diverse locations, there is scope for experience in different regions.
With performance, service length, and departmental rules, scope for advancement to higher Group C posts (depending on vacancies and departmental promotions).
Job stability is a major perk — which is significant for many aspirants, especially with minimal entry qualification (10th pass).
10. Key Points for Aspirants (Tips)
Ensure you meet eligibility: 10th pass + age between 18-25 (as of 14 Dec 2025).
Choose preferred examination cities carefully, and clarify domicile/posting implications.
Start preparing early for Tier I: focus on General Awareness (current affairs + static GK), Quantitative & Reasoning basics, English grammar & comprehension. Also practice speed & accuracy (negative marking!).
For Tier II: practise paragraph writing, vocabulary, grammar, comprehension — since it is descriptive and qualifying.
Gather all educational certificates, age proof, domicile certificate (if required), category certificate (if applicable) in advance.
Monitor the official website for updates (admit card, exam dates, results) — since schedule might get updated.
Be mentally ready for postings across India; flexibility is important.
Maintain good physical and mental fitness, as medical fitness is required.
Ensure your application is error-free: correct details, photo & signature uploads, fee payment completed before the deadline.
Because the competition will be high (362 posts only) even though qualification is modest, your score must stand out. So consistency and smart preparation matter.
